Firms keen to win business from the public sector are teaming up to create ‘virtual’ consortiums.
Winning State contracts has always been a challenge for small firms compared with their bigger rivals. But business owners who work together, albeit temporarily, are proving increasingly successful in winning contracts.
Research by Skillfair, an online meeting place for consultants, shows that while the number of Governmental contracts worth £150,000 and above fell in 2010 compared with the previous year, those in the £5,000 to £150,000 range have been rising.
